Kualoa Ranch seeks a Stewardship Technician Supervisor responsible for stewardship by coordinating and implementing efforts such as controlling the spread of invasive species and restoring and maintaining native habitats and cultural environmental features on property.

Primary responsibilities:

· Control or eliminate alien plant species from pasture, forested, and coastal areas using mechanical and chemical techniques

· Coordinate; plan and manage restoration and stewardship projects

· Assist Education Manager in various conservation, education, outreach, and cultural projects and programs

· Maintenance of tools, equipment, vehicles, and office and storage areas

Requirements: Experience with herbicides, hand tools, power tools, 4 WD and ATV operation, supervision of workers. Able to work independently for extended periods of time. Physically fit, able to conduct strenuous fieldwork in weather extremes which may involve extensive walking or hiking in undeveloped areas. Good (positive and effective) verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Hawaiian culture and language, sustainability and environment awareness. Self directed learner.
