Four
30-second television public service announcements were created
for Mālama Hawaii by many talented film/video
production professionals who served as volunteers, including
Alyssa Miller, David Rosen, and Jay Evans. The spots have
run on network stations and on OC 16's "Outside Hawai‘i"
in 2004.
These
PSAs were sponsored by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
and The Nature Conservancy.
Year
of the Hawaiian Forest
Four 30 second public service announcements (PSA) for television
were created using exemplary footage shot by renowned photographers
Paul and Grace Atkins. Each PSA focused on a special message,

water, clean air and shade, and the impact of erosion on
our forests and reefs.

Watershed
Two
30 second PSAs for television were created for the Department
of Land and Natural Resources and Malama Hawaii to
promote watershed awareness. These “Moki” PSAs
became so popular that other similar PSAs were developed
by other sponsors. The PSAs were created by Matt Yamashita
and Cal Hirai and have been aired regularly on Outside Hawaii

Invasive Species
The
Hawai‘i Invasive Species Council has developed a 30
second pest hotline ad to air on radio stations. This PSA
may be used free of copyright for educational purposes.
Even though it is illegal to import or possess snakes and
piranha in Hawai‘i, there a few bad apples that smuggle
them in, where they may be set free or escape. Do you know
who to call if you see a snake?? Here's a handy jingle to
help you remember.
